Key concepts

The handful of words you'll see throughout SetFlow. Skim once and the rest of the docs make sense.

Workspace

A workspace is your private container — your account is one. A team or school is also a workspace; everyone who joins lives inside the same space and can see what they're permitted to see based on their role.

Course

A course is what an educator creates for a class. It has a roster, assignments, quizzes, and a course-scoped Tori. Students join via a link or code and stay enrolled until the educator drops them or the course is archived.

Project

A project is a unit of work for founders, teams, and individual users. It has tasks, a timeline, attachments, and a project-scoped Tori that knows the project's context. Projects are private to the people you add to them.

Roles

Student
Joins courses, studies, submits assignments, asks Tori for help.
Educator
Creates courses, authors assignments and quizzes, grades, and uses Tori for Educators to draft teaching material.
Founder
Owns a workspace; can invite, set roles, manage billing, and see everything.
Team member
Joins an existing workspace; capabilities depend on the workspace role they were invited at.
School admin
Manages a school's account from the admin console — users, courses, usage.

Inside a workspace, members also have a workspace role — owner, admin, manager, contributor, or viewer — that decides what they can do. See Roles & permissions.

Tori personas

Tori isn't one chatbot — it's a set of personas tuned to where you're working. The study persona explains and questions; the educator persona drafts teaching material; the project persona plans and unblocks; the supportive persona checks in. Each persona has its own conversation history and never bleeds context across surfaces.

Visibility & privacy

Personal Tori chats and personal study notes are private to your account. Course content is visible to enrolled students and the educators teaching the course. Workspace content is visible to invited members, scoped further by role.

Note

School admins can see usage statistics — they don't read student chats. The full posture is in Security overview.
