No student should ever lose access to their own coursework.

Every other LMS treats the individual student as a seat that disappears when the institutional contract ends. Drop out, transfer schools, take a year off — your notes, your essays, your grades go with the institution.

SetFlow is different by construction. Your account is yours. Your study materials are yours. Your morning briefings are yours. The institutional tier exists to fund the platform; the free tier exists to keep the platform's mission honest.

This is a structural commitment, not a marketing tactic. We will never charge an individual student or educator to access their own coursework, regardless of what their institution does.

What does "free for educators" mean exactly?
Any teacher can sign up at getsetflow.app/sign-up with a personal email, create a class, invite students with an enrollment code, and use the full feature set — AI grading included. No district approval required, no procurement cycle, no hidden seat fees.
What does "$5/student/year" cover?
BYODB (your own database), single sign-on with Google or Microsoft, institution-wide analytics, cross-class gradebook, bulk user management, LTI 1.3 with grade passback, a signed DPA, and dedicated support with an SLA. Multi-year discounts apply.
Why is this free? What's the long-term plan?
The unit economics work because the institutional contract pays for the marginal infrastructure cost of all the free users in that institution. SetFlow's mission is that no student should be locked out of their own coursework because their school changed vendors. The free tier is a structural commitment, not a marketing tactic.
Are there usage limits on the free tier?
Rate limits, yes. Hard caps, no. Tori responds to ~50 free-tier requests per day per student — enough to actually study, not so generous that we have to ban accounts. Storage is generous. We post the current limits publicly on the pricing page.
Will the free tier ever go away?
No. We have committed to keeping the core platform free for individuals forever. The platform exists because students should not lose access to their own work, ever.
How is this different from Google Classroom?
Google Classroom is free but it's not a real LMS — it's a folder system for distributing assignments. SetFlow ships a real gradebook with weighted categories, a quiz engine, AI tutoring, AI grading, spaced-repetition flashcards, and LTI 1.3. Both are free; one is a full LMS.
